When Itβs Time to Say Goodbye
Heartwork Sessions - End of Life Dog Photography in Clovis, CA
Rosie was always a lover of water. So we chose a location where she could splash, sniff, and just be Rosie. She got pets from every family member. She gave soft smiles and stood close, like she knew exactly why we were all there. And when I delivered their gallery, they didnβt just see photosβthey saw their love reflected back.
Thatβs what my Heartwork Sessions are for.
Some sessions stay with me long after Iβve packed up my gear.
Rosieβs was one of them.
Her family had just learned that time was running short. She was slowing down, and they knew they didnβt want to wait until she was too tired or uncomfortable. They reached out wanting to do something meaningfulβa way to remember her while she was still herself. Not just for them, but for the kids too.

These short, heartfelt sessions are created for families in the Clovis, Fresno, and Central Valley area who are preparing to say goodbye to a beloved dog. Thereβs no pressure. No posing unless the dog is up for it. These sessions are quiet, personal, and completely centered on your dogβs comfort. Family is always welcome. These moments belong to all of you.
Heartwork Sessions are shorter and simpler than my full sessions. They include family and are designed to be easy on your dogβjust 30 minutes at a local location Iβve chosen to keep things peaceful and low-stress. They come with a small selection of digital images, perfect for remembering the love and connection in those final days.
Some families choose to book a full session instead, even for end-of-life, especially if they want more time, more images to choose from, or the flexibility to create a full album or wall art collection. While I can absolutely help create beautiful artwork from a Heartwork Session, a full session offers greater variety in poses, locations, and moments captured.
During your consultation, weβll talk through what your dog is experiencing, including factors like mobility, fatigue, and comfort level. My goal is to create something that honors your dog in a way that feels right for both of you.
I started offering end-of-life dog photography after losing my own dog, Nala. I know how much it means to have something real to hold onto after theyβre gone. These images are meant to bring comfort on the hard days and keep their memory alive.
But these donβt have to be your dogβs only photos.
If your dog is still young, healthy, or just full of goofy energy, thatβs the perfect time to start. Iβve photographed dogs from puppyhood through their silver-muzzle years, and itβs one of the greatest honors of my work. I get to know them. I follow their stories. And when the time comes to say goodbye, I already feel like Iβm saying it to an old friend.
All full session clients receive a complimentary Heartwork Session when that time comes. Itβs one of the ways I stay connected to the families I work with and support you through all the chapters of your dogβs lifeβnot just the joyful ones.
If youβre facing this kind of goodbyeβor even thinking aheadβI want you to know this option exists. And I want to gently encourage you: donβt wait until itβs too late. Every phase of your dogβs life matters. You deserve to remember all of it.
Mention βHeartwork Sessionsβ during your consultation if you'd like to learn more, or reach out directly when you're ready to talk. I'm here when you need me.
